Does Miviso provide Facility Management software?

No. Miviso does not provide its own Facility Management or CAFM software. Our focus is on the BIM model and the building data required for your specific Facility Management application.

We support you in defining which geometry, information, parameters, and data structures are needed for the intended use and prepare the BIM model accordingly. If required, we can also advise you during the implementation process and support the coordination with your selected FM software provider.

If you do not yet have a suitable FM solution, we can also help you identify the requirements and connect you with appropriate partners.

What information does a BIM model need for Facility Management?

The required information depends on the intended use and the Facility Management system. In addition to geometry, relevant data may include room information, component properties, asset data, classifications, technical information, and other parameters required for building operations. We define the required information together with you before preparing the model.

Can you prepare an existing BIM model for Facility Management?

Yes. Existing BIM models can be reviewed, structured, and enriched with the information required for Facility Management. We first assess the available model and data quality and compare it with the requirements of the intended FM application.

Can you create an FM-ready BIM model from point cloud data?

Yes. If no suitable BIM model is available, we can create an as-built BIM model based on your point cloud data and structure it according to the defined Facility Management requirements.

Can BIM models be prepared for CAFM and FM platforms?

Yes. We prepare BIM models and structured building data according to the requirements of the intended FM workflow or target system. We also have experience working with BIM-based Facility Management platforms such as Dalux.

Which file formats do you provide?

Depending on the project requirements, we provide models in native formats such as Revit or Archicad as well as open exchange formats such as IFC. The required structure, parameters, and additional data formats are defined according to the intended Facility Management application.

How detailed does a BIM model for Facility Management need to be?

More detail is not automatically better. The required geometry and information should be defined according to the intended use of the model. For Facility Management, the relevant information and data structure are often more important than a very high geometric level of detail.
