In our very first BIM Story, we briefly introduce ourselves and delve into the reasoning behind our expansion into 3D BIM modeling, in addition to our already established 3D visualization services.
Who is Miviso?
Our team at Miviso (www.miviso.com) has a wealth of experience in the field of 3D visualization and 3D building modeling. We have been able to utilize our skills to assist clients in the real estate industry with marketing their new building projects. In the past few years alone, we have successfully visualized over 3,500 buildings for clients located all around the world. Our dedication to delivering high-quality, visually stunning 3D models has earned us a reputation as experts in this field. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve and expand our services, ensuring that our clients have access to the most advanced and effective 3D visualization tools available.
Currently, our team consists of 23 3D enthusiasts passionate about 3D modeling who bring a diverse range of experience in the field. Many of us have a background in architecture, while others come from the technical and BIM sectors. What unites us is our passion for building digitalization. We believe that 3D modeling and visualization can greatly enhance the design and construction process, and we are dedicated to using our skills and expertise to help our clients achieve their goals.
Our company headquarters are located in the TWI Economic Park in the beautiful city of Innsbruck, Austria. Most of our team members who handle 3D modeling and visualization work are based at our office in Chisinau, Moldova. One of our founders, Philip Willner, is based in Moldova and oversees the subsidiary from there.
How did you get started doing 3D modeling of existing buildings?
To be honest, we began doing 3D modeling of existing buildings in response to numerous requests from partners and customers.
At the end of 2021, we started to delve more deeply into the topic of 3D modeling of existing buildings. As we continued to work on it, we realized that our efforts could greatly improve the efficiency and reliability of building projects involving existing structures.
An accurate 3D model of an existing building serves as a strong foundation for effective renovation planning and rehabilitation efforts, which are becoming increasingly important in both the construction industry and society as a whole.
Up until now, the most common ways to commission a service for existing building modeling have been:
Hiring trained professionals such as planners and architects, either in-house or externally;
Outsourcing the work, often through providers in India.
Both of these options have their pros and cons in terms of cost, time, and quality/reliability.
By combining fast processing times, reliable quality, and affordability, we have been able to successfully offer our 3D modeling services in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. We have completed several successful projects in these countries, and our clients are very satisfied with the results.
3D visualization and 3D BIM modeling - do they even fit together?
Yes and no. :)
Miviso started out by offering high-quality 3D visualizations for the promotion of real estate. Since its founding in 2017, Miviso has visualized 3,500 projects and modeled more than 3,500 buildings in 3D. This has given us a great deal of experience in modeling and the development of efficient processes.
Photorealistic 3D visualizations are a sales-promoting tool for real estate marketing. The requirements for 3D BIM models of existing buildings are different and may vary, but in all cases, technical accuracy is essential. These models are often used for further planning purposes or as a digital twin for facility management.
While the areas of application and users for 3D visualizations and 3D BIM models differ significantly, the underlying service has many similarities. This is why it made sense for us to offer both services.
3D visualizations are often used as a marketing tool in the real estate industry, while 3D BIM models are commonly used for further planning measures or as a digital twin for facility management. However, both services involve creating a detailed, accurate 3D representation of a building or structure. This requires a strong understanding of 3D modeling techniques and the ability to create realistic, photorealistic visuals. By offering both 3D visualization and 3D BIM modeling, we are able to provide a comprehensive range of services to our clients.
